Dear Parents/Guardians,

 

Student safety, in our parking lot, continues to be a concern at W.T. Townshend Public School.  Due to the number of vehicles currently accessing the parking lot and/or Ring Road/Bus Drop-off, student safety is a concern each day.  

When you are dropping off your child at the start of the day or picking your child up at the end of the day, the expectation is that you park on Activa Dr. or one of the side streets.  Access to the W.T. Townshend Ring Road/Bus Drop-off and the school parking lot is not permitted.  The Ring Road is a fire access route and it is illegal to park, stop, or drop off within this zone.  The City of Kitchener By-Law department will be monitoring parking and student drop-off at W.T. Townshend and will issue tickets when parking infractions occur.  

 

For your information, teacher supervision on the playground begins at 8:30 am, for students from grade 1-6.  After school, playground supervision continues until 3:10 pm.  

 

Please note:  If you have a current Accessible Parking Pass, issued from Service Ontario, access to the parking lot will be granted.  

 

In addition, new School Parking Passes will be issued.  If you require a School Parking Pass, for medical reasons only, please come into the office to speak with an administrator.  You must park in a parking spot, not on the Ring Road.
