Dear W.T. Townshend Parents or Guardians,

As the year end approaches, I will be determining our staff and classes for next September. Teachers will meet with me to consider the placement of each student based on a number of criteria which include:

• the academic level of the student
• the social/emotional development of each student
• the teaching style of the teachers
• the balance in each class of students with special needs
• the balance in each class of boys and girls
• the relationship that exists between students

If you feel that you have some information that you would like me to consider when placements are under discussion please write me a letter or an email (lori_briscoe@wrdsb.ca) by June 15, 2018. For obvious reasons, parents are not permitted to request specific teachers but may highlight the learning and social needs of their child. The final decision of student placement is the school’s responsibility.

Waterloo Region District School Board is committed to keeping your children safe. To comply with privacy legislation we are changing the way we communicate elementary students’ home classrooms for September 2018. Class lists will no longer be posted on the outside windows or doors of your child’s  school. More details about how to find your child’s class information will be shared on the school website and via School-Day in August.
