Hi Parents,

W.T. Townshend Public School is considering organizing a Traffic Safety Kiss N’ Ride program, in the morning, for the students. The purpose of this program would be to provide a way to get our children safely from their car to the schoolyard without stopping traffic. (Parents will not park and will not get out of their vehicle).

In order to get this program up and running we will require a minimum of 4 parent volunteers, each day, Monday to Friday. We would likely need more then 4, as back up, to keep the program running. We are asking that you please indicate your willingness to volunteer. The volunteering requires about 25 minutes of your time before school. Parent volunteers would be in place, wearing traffic safety vests, between 8:20 AM and 8:45 AM. When and if were able to get this program going it has been reported by other schools to work efficiently. The traffic congestion will significantly improve making the trip to school much safer and easier.

Anyone interested in volunteering is asked to contact Brandy Kennedy at bkennedy@choicesforchange.ca or at 226-606-9899. Please indicate which days of the week you would be available. Thanks!
